Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 Escalabilidad

Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 se basa en dos funciones de servidor: buzón de correo y transporte perimetral. Los servidores de buzones de correo alojan las bases de datos de buzones que almacenan correos electrónicos para los usuarios. También procesan y enrutan el correo electrónico dentro de la organización y las conexiones del cliente proxy al servidor de buzones que actualmente aloja la base de datos activa para el usuario. Los servidores de transporte perimetral están ubicados en la DMZ de la red, en la que enrutan el correo electrónico entrante y saliente con redes externas.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 Coexistence and Upgrade Planning

 

Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 supports co-existence with Exchange Server 2010 and 2013. Older versions such as Exchange Server 2007 or below need to be upgraded to Exchange Server 2010 or 2013 before moving to the latest release. Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 Scalability

Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 is based on two server roles: Mailbox and Edge Transport. Mailbox servers host the mailbox databases that store emails for the users.  They also process and route email within the organization and proxy client connections to the mailbox server that currently hosts the active database for the user. Edge Transport servers are located in the network DMZ where they route inbound and outbound email with external networks.
